Review on πŸ“Έ Datacolor SpyderX Pro SXP100 – Advanced Monitor Calibration for Professional Photographers and Designers by Jerome Pritchard

Exactly, but for professionals because of the many possibilities

I used to have a Pantone Huey monitor calibrator that I've used for many, many years. When I bought a new computer, the software for my Huey was no longer supported, so I had to find a new way to calibrate my monitors. I'm an amateur photographer with no professional requirements, but I print often enough to find an advantage in a fully calibrated workflow. The device itself is small and appears to be well made. The USB cable length is ok, but I need an extra cable to extend it to two monitors. The software is easy to install but a bit intimidating to use as there are many options that are not explained that well. One of the things you'll quickly realize is that this device doesn't want you working in a brightly lit area. Dark color is good for correct calibration. I had to wait until early evening and set up the lights in my office before I could get the device working. Calibration is quick but requires some fiddling with your monitors' settings menus. This allows you to calibrate multiple monitors. It also wants you to calibrate every month, which I don't think is necessary for most users. So it's well done, with easy to install software with a lot of poorly explained options. It needs a fairly specific environment before it works, and it requires your monitor to be calibrated all too often. Overall I like it, it makes a great calibration profile but I don't think I'll ever like it.
