I wanted a good quality digital microscope and didn't want to break the bank for a similarly big brand that can easily be bought for over $1500 up to what you want to spend, really. This little guy for only $100 is AWESOME! Great picture quality, good workmanship and the connected (pluggable) remote control are also good. I bought it to test circuit boards, especially those with surface mount (SMT) components. The zoom level of detail is VERY good. The only thing that bothers me is the lighting included in the block (top of the case) with LEDs, sometimes finicky (sp?), but this is easily fixed with an external light source. I haven't tried the two built into the platform yet as I'm currently inundated with USB ports on my hub, but I'm sure the two plugged into the base will likely fix this "little" misunderstanding. RECOMMENDED! With minimal investment you simply can't go wrong whether you are in the same industry as me, electronics, botany, stamps, coins etc. There is no limit to what is possible.
