I made a pendant light into a kind of observation sphere and wanted to add the lights I chose. I wrapped them around one of those screws in the fluorescent lights and used hot glue dots to attach the coils. This allowed the lights to fill the space inside the sphere. Placed the wrapped lightbulb on the base and added the globe. I think it turned out beautiful! I have questions about mode selection. Off, steady and flickering. I've noticed that the lights cycle through Chase, Fade, Flash Flicker, and Flicker (maybe a few others) as you flicker. I figured there must be a way to tweak them, so I started pushing a button and sure enough, I could decide to go cycling or choose what I wanted forever. Nowhere in the manual is this feature mentioned. Got exactly what I wanted and the price was great!
