I was looking for a way to add buttons that I would be more comfortable using. For reference, I only need buttons for Call of Duty (Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War). For Warzone I needed to mark locations more easily and in BO I wanted to use killstreaks faster. What they have in common is that they are mapped onto a d-pad, which means I have to take my thumb off the joystick. In a fast-paced game like Call of Duty, that split-second delay can cost you kills or deaths. They are also mapped to different buttons (detection enabled, triggering killstreaks is correct). This product offers me not only two buttons, but also multiple profiles. I have separate profiles for Warzone and Black Ops. If I only had one profile I would put one on top and the other on the right. But since I have profiles, I was able to set another hotkey in Black Ops profile to "below", which allows me to switch between killstreaks instead of calling the highest one (so if I want to call UAV/Radar instead of Oncoming UAV which I've since earned have and will have priority). It has 3 profiles so you can setup different profiles for games or users. It also allows you to use a headset that not all other competitors have. It takes a few games to get used to, but basically it's just reprogramming your brain to remember that these options are available to you. I very rarely accidentally press buttons. The buttons are located where your middle fingers (or ring fingers) would normally be, allowing you to use those fingers instead of moving them. I don't really notice any difference with the thumbsticks. For what it's worth, they appear to be of decent quality, but I haven't noticed much of a difference in my game that I can attribute to these thumb pads. I didn't buy this for the thumb pads, it was more of a bonus for me - I was only interested in the extra buttons, but decided to give the thumb pads a try. They are a little tricky to put on so parents should be aware that they may need help putting them on - hand strength seems important to get them on tight. the desired ones were met with a minimal learning curve. More importantly, as a complete aftermarket controller, it won't break the bank and easily installs onto any standard PS4 controller.
