I really like this hat. It is warm and lined with fur material around the ears. This is a beautiful classic winter hat. I like that it's firm enough to hold a round shape on top. I can't remember if it was written as wool or not, but it definitely looks like wool from the outside. The hat is also heavy, it seems to be a quality hat. I would say it lives up to expectations. I usually buy big hats and this one fits me. In terms of warmth I would say this is a good warm hat but not the best. I was making hay for the cows this morning, it was 27 degrees, it took about 45 minutes and my ears were a bit chilly but not bad. If I were planning a full day ski trip I would bring my trusty Mad Bomber fur hat, but for half an hour unloading the truck in 30-40 degree weather that would be fine. Oh yes, and above all, the head does not itch like with other winter hats. For the money this is a damn good hat.
