My HP Pavilion G7 laptop was bought 2.5 years ago for $299 and has always been slow. I use it more often now and am really tired of waiting 3 minutes for it to load and how annoyingly slow it was in general functions. Now with Samsung I go from cold boot to fully functional in about 15-17 seconds with Chrome connected to the internet! All my programs work better, pages load better. I really couldn't be happier. Almost bought a new laptop, so glad I didn't. Attention! I see many people having trouble cloning their drives or just can't get it to work. My advice is slow. When I clone the original hard drive for the first time, I didn't realize that I missed cloning two hard drive partitions. You have to do it. I cloned the main drive but not the Windows partition or HP proprietary stuff. I erased the drive and then cloned it again, this time with two small partitions. This time it worked like clockwork. My only downside with this product is the instructions that come with the disc. Very lacking, but if you take your time it's very basic. You'll also save a lot of money by doing it yourself instead of leaving it to a team of computer scientists. UPDATE: I bought 2 more of these discs. The second time it didn't go so well. I was trying to update a Gateway ZX6900 All-in-One computer. Every time I tried cloning worked, but booted up saying "no operating system found". In the end I gave up in disgust and tried installing it on a Lenovo Ideacentre Q150 NetTop Home Theater System. IT WORKS perfectly once again! No problem with Lenovo. Then I realized that something in the partitions was causing the problem. So two weeks later I went to Best Buy to get another one as I was planning to do it over the weekend. I ended up buying the 840 Pro as all the Evo models were sold out. These units are very similar. The Evo is a bit faster, but the Pro uses a different specification, which probably increases its lifespan. never mind Anyway, I tried cloning again and again it didn't work. So I decided to boot from the default gateway factory disk I created. Pure slate, right? Not correct. Booting from a DVD would start out fine, then it would get to the point where it would start loading images from the disc and it would say "Not enough disk space"! Long story short, I took the drive, plugged it into another computer via USB, and used Disk Management to delete the tiny 100MB partition. It did. I reinstalled it and now everything is fine with the ZX6900 gateway. Works perfectly. If you have these problems, you might just need to delete this tiny partition. If you visit Tom's Hardware website you will find many answers about these Samsung drives!
