This is a simple pot coffee maker. It has a few minor design flaws. The metal filter is small, that is, you can't just pour water, after the coffee swells, pour a little, wait, pour more. This means that brewing more than 2 cups takes longer than a Chemex because you have to wait for the coffee to finish. The nose design is annoying. It's dirty to pour a cup. It rarely happens that there is no more coffee on the counter. If the glass for the spout were a little more curved, that wouldn't be a problem. All this to say that if you have a little patience it can make a very good cup of coffee. Use freshly ground, freshly roasted beans and well-filtered water. I also use an Aeropress, a cold brew coffee maker, and we have a Breville espresso maker. Other devices have basically been idle since we got this. It's good value for money, with a few minor quirks.
