This dress was just perfect! I'm 158 pounds and a size 14 was pretty loose in the waist. Unfortunately, I had to spend a significant amount of money to have it redone as the torso (and the dress in general) was too long (I'm 5ft 5" tall; I'm 5ft 7" in heels). 5'8" - The dress is designed for women who are approximately 5'10" (5'10") tall. I had 2 inches cut off the shoulder straps and I also added some tulle into the plunging neckline for modesty sewn. The dress does not flare down as seen in the photos of the model. I had to purchase a flared mermaid style petticoat to wear underneath to achieve this look (I also had to purchase a couple of petticoats to finding the right one so my dress didn't stretch to the point where it became stiff and made it look like I was wearing a "bell". I had to face the front every time I took a step of my dress, being careful not to trip over it (even after 2" from the straps). And the wires I saw in the bust were hanging at a pretty weird angle after the alteration (luckily no one noticed). Otherwise, however, it was a beautiful dress and I received endless compliments all evening at the charity gala my husband and I attended (and yes, he loved the dress!). I would like to buy another dress in a different color; However, next time I'd like to either take custom measurements or let the company cover the $50 for changes. But overall I am very happy with the dress! 😊
