This is a very strong shelf and when I put it together I couldn't help but notice how thick and strong the pieces were. Everything from the rail to the hooks and hangers is made of thick steel and covered with a thick layer of rubber to prevent scratches and provide a better grip. This is a great system for your garage or tool shed. I have no doubt that it will hold a lot of weight if properly attached to the wall. Very well built and very good system.
