2 units tested - only the left plug works on both (the 2nd unit was purchased 2 months after the first)

Something is wrong with this product. After many network monitoring tests, I have come to the conclusion that only one of these antenna adapters actually works. Both antennas are OK, but only one plug is active. That might not matter much if it weren't for the fact that the only working antenna connector has a terrible signal. That's about three times worse than my laptops with built-in Wi-Fi cards. Less than ten feet from my router, the signal strength is 90dB+ (regardless of the orientation of a working antenna port). When switching to the built-in Wi-Fi card, the signal level is 25 dB at the same point. For reference, I updated the drivers in Windows 10. I also tried this adapter on two Windows 10 computers with exactly the same results. Maybe I got a lemon or something, but for a product like this to pass quality control, think twice before buying. My 10 year old adapter (54 Mbit/s) (without an external antenna) easily offers better signal strength and more networks. Come back quick, this is a truly awful product. Edit: I ran some more tests. Right now I'm within 3 feet of my router and the signal strength is 74dB at best. I think this device creates self-destructive Wi-Fi interference. It's the only thing that makes sense. I'd love to open it up and see if I can fix it with some quick solder, but I want my $25 back. EDIT: Bought a second one 2 months after the original review and can say with 100% certainty that this is the correct antenna. Connecting both devices only SMALLLY boosts the 5 GHz signal (compared to using without an antenna). The left antenna amplifies both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, while the right antenna connector shows absolutely no 2.4GHz band (except that it's 3ft from the 2.4GHz router. This should be a mass production defect either in whole or in part (this is a specific lot). , or (even worse) by design. It's hard to believe that 2 units bought a few months apart are from the same batch. If you have this product, I suggest checking the link signal strength with only one antenna connected to the right. Side port and report here in your ratings/comments if you observe the same results. I will attach images to show signal strength data with all combinations of possible antenna configurations (ie no antenna - left only - right only - both). I tested the separate antenna that came with the kit separately on the Panda Wi-Fi adapter. Surprisingly they are very good antennas when used with another adapter. The main body is entangled in it and cannot use the power of the antenna. has disassembled approx. n antennas and can make sure that the actual antenna (internal parts) is set up correctly and is of good quality. However, my suggestion is to just use the dual band Panda Wireless PAU09 N600. The Panda device works very well. It also works with Kali Linux. I spent an hour putting the tests together for this review because I hated this product and the company that makes them (I tried but decided to keep and throw out the broken units). raised middle finger). After contacting support to inform them of a non-working product (purchase #1), they asked me to pay for the return shipping and then wait 2-4 weeks for a replacement to be shipped from China. wtf with that? Their idea of this situation is that the customer should pay for the problem, which the company should be 100% responsible for. Anyway fuck this company and this product. Let the data speak for themselves. Here is the product you should buy: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LY35HGO/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1

High speed and tremendous range, but needs better instructions on how to prevent random disconnects
