Review on FLYPIG Spindle Spring Yamaha Peewee by Avishai Menon

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This is probably not the part you want to fit into your Yamaha PW80.

I have serious concerns about this part and am hoping that the Revain description will be changed as this part does not fit the PW80. I can't. I'm not sending it back because I worked on it for two hours to customize it. I've been waiting for this overseas part for almost a month and was disappointed when I tried to fit it. The diameter of the pilot going into the gearbox housing was too large. It was close but was starting to pick up a burr in the case when I tapped it into place. So I took it apart and ground it down a few microns on a lathe. When installing it in the gearbox, I found that this part has a wider gear designed for constant mesh, while the Yamaha gear has a different tooth profile and is removed from the gearbox after start-up. This new part has a ratchet that moves along a helix and is the only part that retracts. I'm hoping the gear on the new part is running on the correct bearing or bushing, but I haven't checked. This means that your 80cc engine gear. I had to convert it into a vise to get it to fit properly. I was never able to get this part to work properly and ended up repairing an original Yamaha part. The micro-machining on the stem itself doesn't look like the best surface for a rubber seal on the sidecap.
