I bought these to replace a sisal rope our cat cut with an expensive scratching post. Wow, what a nice update! I managed to get all the rope off (thankfully it wasn't taped very well and that's probably why I got damaged in the first place) and wrapped one of those grommets around the bar and held it securely with velcro. Our cat likes it better than the rope and doesn't leave all kinds of sisal strands on the floor. So far, so good. Highly recommended. For reference, our cat tree is 18 inches high and 11 inches in diameter.
