wide not wide at all! Unfortunately I had to go back as the shoes were too narrow even in wide and it was very difficult to get my son's feet. And as soon as we managed to put them on (which he couldn't do himself), he said that they "pinched" his feet. He doesn't have very wide feet - half of his shoes are normal. Went back to NB wide shoes that always fit perfectly. Just wanted to try something different and it didn't work. On the other hand, my other son with very narrow feet has a similar model (Excursion but without Velcro), loves them and they are still in very good shape after a year of wearing! Very durable. But I would buy them again for the narrow children's feet.
