I had very irritated, damaged skin due to excessive exfoliation and washing (I was new to Korean skincare). I tried two different creams. While somewhat helpful temporarily, none of this has been able to help my skin heal. After reading about the damaged skin barrier, I realized I needed ceramides to help my skin heal. I found this Balancium cream which contains ceramides and use it morning and night. From the first use, my skin immediately felt much better and was not irritated. Within 2 weeks of use my skin has almost completely recovered. Feels like a healing balm on your face. This leaves a slightly dewy finish on your skin due to the natural oils in the cream. But it didn't clog my skin at all, especially considering I have oily, acne-prone but dry skin. I also use Rosehip Oil and Crazy Hippie Antioxidant Oil to saturate my skin with more antioxidants. But oils alone have never soothed irritation or healed my skin as quickly as COSRX Balancium. I love this stuff! It takes a little while to penetrate the skin. and if you don't like the feel of dew, slightly oily on the skin. then you might not like it. However, I like the light, oily, dewy feel because it still makes my skin feel great. There is no feeling of heaviness, constipation. It can be distributed very well. So good you don't need much to spread every area of the face. just a small smear. I find I can put mineral powder on it if I want. although I haven't tried it yet because I don't use cosmetics. But I know my makeup will handle it because I used to put it on a damp surface. So if your face has a damaged skin barrier, irritated, dry or dehydrated skin, this is very important for you. I'm very prone to acne and it hasn't made me break out at all.
