Me: I took a course in Microbiology and needed courses for my Nursing degree. I bought this microscope as a family item for a long time since we are homeschooled. It arrived on time and I spent about six hours just looking at it. Suitable uses include good high school coursework. It was inferior to a few things I saw at my university, but not by much. Physically durable, unless you're surprisingly clumsy, there's no fear of accidentally knocking it over and breaking it. With the exception of an overly burly young child there seems to be only one part that can clearly break and that is misusing the locking screw and then lifting the stage (into the lens) too high. It came with good default settings with around ten minutes of careful assembly required, this comes with some familiarity and as others have mentioned make a note of the code in your box carefully for guidance. The specific manual for your model may not be easy to find without this code. One problem with the packaging/delivery was that the 100x lens oil ran out halfway and ended up in the microscope dust cover. Pretty easy to clean. Another potential issue with the material was that the slide holder was very slightly bent, causing it not to sit flush with the table and causing the slides to fly out. I bent it into the right shape with some pressure and it worked fine. I could see the outside of the seaweed I made using my own bird feeder slide and could easily focus on the finished slides that I purchased separately. It was fun and educational. We are planning to buy an Amscope camera or an adapter for one of our other cameras (not decided yet).
