A while ago I bought a contigo travel mug that didn't fit me. It was hard to drink from a game that looked more like a spill-proof mug than a travel mug. When I left something in a sealed jar for a couple of weeks, the smell seeped into the plastic and wouldn't come out after a dozen trips in the dishwasher, I decided to throw it out and try something else. I'll spend the next few weeks reading reviews. and see before you decide on this travel mug. I'm honestly very happy with my choice. It was well packaged and I was able to easily wash all parts before first use. He poured coffee into a mug, left the lid on, and headed for the door. The slider is easy to open and close with one hand and the liquid flows easily. My coffee stayed hot for hours. I can't speak to the straw as this mug is 100% used for hot coffee or tea, but the straw comes with a cleaning brush and looks well made. happy with this mug. Much easier to use and clean than contigo. If I lost it I would definitely replace it with the same mug.
