Excessive sweating always makes my keyboard oily and smudgy and dirty and grimy the display of every laptop I have. . I'm using a keyboard overlay, but since it's slightly raised than the real keys, the smudges get worse. I bought this blanket so that it doesn't happen again. The quality is excellent, durable and easy to clean, it covers the entire keyboard area and most of the trackpad; as described. However, for some reason the lid doesn't close completely. It doesn't matter as he will still be asleep and it's almost impossible to notice him unless I listen to the sound of the lid closing. which I can't hear when using a blanket. Perhaps, this is due to a slight rise and protrusion caused by the skin on the trackpad (this is not related to the keyboard skin as I tried closing the lid without it and it made no difference). While the skin didn't cause any problems when closing the lid without a blanket, I believe the added thickness of the blanket now prevents the lid from closing completely with a satisfying full-shut sound. Since this minor issue doesn't harm the laptop or prevent it from going to sleep, I'm happy with the product and glad I no longer suffer from these spots.
