I would recommend consulting with someone before planning to install a sunshade. This sunshade in particular was of great quality and seemed like it would hold up. The corners are amazingly sturdy and reinforced. The seller was responsive and made ordering a custom size super easy. We reached out to the seller to see what size we should plan on ordering. Our deck is 14’ by 30’. We went with a 12’ by 30’ and dug our post holes about 2 feet from the edge of our deck. Unfortunately, the 4x6 posts we installed couldn’t handle the problem pull from this shade and started to bow and crack right away. In addition, the way our house is situated, we didn’t strategically place the shade sail where we really needed it. To shade our entire deck, we should have gone at least 5 feet away from the deck (or more) and either extended it past each edge or planned some sort of drop down. I think the size we got was too big and unmanageable. I just wish there were some better instructions with this one or tips and tricks.
