This is a big nope from me. I have a 40" chest and wear trousers with a 36" waist. My true waist measures 36", but I carry my weight around my belly so I measure 38" at the level of the navel, with some annoying love handles that refuse to go away.I ordered an XL (41-44" chest & 36-39" true waist, according to the size chart) in the hope that this t-shirt might help compress and smooth out my love handles beneath a sweater or shirt, but the difference is negligible. The t-shirt is extremely tight while putting it on - alarmingly so, and I worried I wouldn't be able to remove it without help - but once the strong elastic portion that runs from the lower chest down to the hem was snugly over my stomach it felt comfortable enough. I could wear it all day without discomfort.Unfortunately I didn't get much of a shaping effect. My love handles were reduced a little, but as the t-shirt was skin tight everywhere else the overall effect was to make me look like an overstuffed sausage. The effect wasn't strong enough that it was worth the feeling of compression.Maybe this would work great on someone else. I think it depends on where you carry your weight and how much you have. Maybe I would have had more success if I'd sized down to a large, so I don't want to ding the product with a very poor rating, but for me it was a bust.
