Review on πŸ”₯ OAKI Neoprene Rescue Fireman Boots Boys' Shoes by Brent Borseth

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not as durable as I had hoped.

I bought my toddler these Oakiwear boots at the same time I bought my preschooler a pair of Bogs. I bought both pairs slightly larger so they will (hopefully) last two winters. Both have worn boots heavily in the last year, in the snow/mud/rain/just playing outside (they love how easy the boots are to put on). My preschooler even rides his swamps and uses them to help him stop. A year later, the entire tread/sole of his boots is still intact. However, my toddler's Oakiwear boots, who wasn't too strict with them, aren't in the best condition either. As with some of the other reviews, he rubbed the back of his heels after about six months. We don't live in an extremely humid climate, so I'm not sure how that affected the boots' ability to keep water out. I think we'll find out this winter. I try to patch the soles of my boots with some shoe slime to give them more wear. Aside from the heels, everything else about the boots still looks amazing. I wish they would just make the rubber at the bottom of the boots a little thicker. If you're paying full price (over $80) for a pair of Bogs and not $50 for these, and you're just hoping a kid wears them one winter, then you'll probably be fine. But if, like me, you're hoping for more than one season and the opportunity to pass the shoes down to younger siblings, wait for a deal and just spend your money on the Bogs.
