Works great once you get the hang of it!

We decided to make our own wedding invitations and used a laminator to attach the gold foil to it. The photo I've attached shows the flower on our invitation. We did it before finding the right trick to make it work perfectly. Here are some things to keep in mind: - You must use an inkjet laser printer to print your design. Laser inkjet printers use toner and this gold foil adheres to the toner. Make sure the gold side of the foil is facing up. If it is important that the foil stays in place, use WASHI tape and a sheet of printer paper. . We put my invitation in the middle of the newspaper. Then I took the gold foil (I cut it to the perfect size) and placed it over the floral design. Once that was in place I used WASHI tape to attach the gold foil over my floral design. I then ran the entire sheet of printer paper (with the gold foil and invitation attached) through the laminator. Using WASHI tape is important because it can withstand the heat of the laminator and allows the same piece of tape to be used over and over again (so there isn't a lot of waste). This was the number one tip for me: if your design is rectangular, run the project SHORT SIDE FIRST through the laminator. First we ran the invite through the laminator for a long time and the gold didn't stick all over. Once we did this on the shortcut, the gold fully bonded because the machine was able to heat the foil more evenly and with fewer wrinkles.
