Firm enough to hold height but soft enough for comfort.
This is a comfortable wedge heel with or without a cushion. I use a very fluffy down pillow for extra comfort when riding on my side and this wedge fits perfectly. I tend to slide off other elevated wedges and pillows, which causes a "pop" in my neck the next morning, but this wedge keeps me comfortable and somehow it helps me slide down easily. (I think it's because it makes me toss and turn less.) If I slide down a little, the wedge adjusts enough to take the pressure off my neck, making it comfortable enough to wear to sleep longer. My wife tried it, now I'm going to buy it for her lol.
