My daughter is happy with them and there are certainly many colors and designs to choose from. I didn't want her walking barefoot on the beach with so much trash that her little feet hurt. You never know when an idiot will break a bottle or leave a fishhook where it doesn't belong. In any case, the shoes fit well and are comfortable enough, but quickly clog with sand. After playing for just a few minutes, she should stop and dump the sand. It's a disappointing nuisance, and they certainly won't win a Nobel prize for design, but they're perfectly fine for cheap basic beach shoes - definitely better than nothing.
