Review on 🍲 TAUCI Bowls with Convenient Handles – Perfect for Serving Chili, 12 Ounce Size by Michael Boyce

perfect size for french onion soup

I was very skeptical about buying these as many reviews said they had packaging issues and would not fold. I've been looking for the "perfect" French Onion Soup Plate for several years. This is our traditional Christmas dinner. I bought 3 different bowls and none - count them, none matched the bowl better than this one. a set - 2 big. The other set has 2 small ones (4 inch diameter) but I can use them to make clam tacos on the outside and nice buns on the inside. Trust me I was very concerned about the negative reviews - sloppy packaging and the fact that they don't "fold". But when I saw it was "free returns," I gave it a try. Although 28 ounces sounds like a lot - if you want a real French Onion Soup dinner - you need depth, handles and the ability to place them under the fryer for that extra goodness. When two boxes of 4 bowls came - I was very pleased worried, sealed with tape, and there were puncture marks on the second one which made me skeptical BUT here and there all 8 shells fit perfectly. The size is perfect for my plans. It's deep enough to hold a generous helping of my soup and hold a critical layer of bread and cheese. Whilst I haven't tested them in the oven yet - will do so soon and will update my review. But as for "stacking" yes they do wobble a bit when you try to stack them in 4 stacks but as I have space in my cupboard and can stack them in 2 piles, a simple napkin placed between the bowls seems to do the trick and has the added benefit of preventing damage to the edges of the bowls. I'd add that you might need a "charger" or other heat-resistant plate mat for your dinners - but that goes without saying. So far so good. Ideal.
