I have an iPad Pro with a 2nd gen stylus and I'm used to it being magnetically charged and the stylus sticking to the iPad. Then I got an iPad mini 5 that used a 1st generation Apple Pencil. I was looking for something that could magnetize the pen and found this. With no magnetic strips, it worked great with the Apple Folio Cover. The handle is very comfortable to use and hold and stays in place. I recently got the latest iPad mini and a 2nd gen stylus for it. I love magnetic charging but I confess I missed this grip. I've searched for something similar but haven't found anything. I then decided to try it out on my Gen 2 to see if it would charge through the crank. You know what? Yes! It works with and charges from the 2nd generation Apple Pencil. I just unscrewed the magnetic part from the flat part of the pencil (the side that charges) and it works like a charm. So now I have a 2nd generation Apple Pencil and my favorite pen! I don't need a magnetic part but the way it's constructed makes it very comfortable to hold.
