I've tried using it but I can only put my index finger in about half way so I feel like I don't have a really good caliber

I have small hands For a woman I'd say . I've tried using it but I can only get my index finger about half way in so I feel like I don't have a good idea of what I'm actually putting in my baby's mouth and I'm wondering if I go to myself too far behind or not enough. I only bought these because I lost my first one which fully fitted my finger but was the same basic design. Man I wish I could find the one I had before. It was a waste of money to be honest.
