My 8 year old daughter needed a desk/chair that fits the small space in her room. It fits perfectly, has many features and is not too expensive. We hope that by slightly raising the chair and desk (now to medium height) they will serve her up to 5th or even 6th grade. I would recommend buying this for kids K through 4th grade. Time will tell if it holds up, but I don't see why not. Assembly took a little longer than expected. To save your back, use a table or workbench for a few steps, and an extra pair of hands can help. The instructions were above average and there are YouTube videos to watch. Everything arrived with no defects. When I lifted the chair too high it was a bit difficult to get it back down, but a few minutes of fiddling and I got it done (be careful not to lift it too high to avoid fiddling!). It may be difficult for a small child to tilt the table at an angle. Maybe let mom or dad do it.
