Review on JETech Case For IPad 2 3 4 (Old Model) Tablet Accessories by Matt Schmick

I bought this because it is a faithful replica of my original Apple clamshell iPad case which i could find. When I bought my iPad (4th generation, model A1458) in early 2013, I also bought a case from Apple ($49!). The original lid was fully rubberized with silica gel - there was no hard plastic on the back - and a 4-leaf lid with a magnetic closure. The original cover had some sort of stitching around the top of the bottom which was a bit of extra shock protection around the edges of the iPad. This new cover (JETech) does not have this seam and does not have the same protection on the corners. However, it fits my iPad very well and "snaps" into place. When the lid is closed, the iPad goes to sleep as it should. The rubberized texture is identical to the original, as is the soft lining on the inside of the lid (to protect the screen). I don't know how long it will last - the original cover lasted almost 6 years! - but I'll try to remember to update this review if anything goes wrong. Overall I am happy with this case. It fits my 4th gen iPad perfectly, replicates the OEM case well enough and looks solid enough to last a while. I only gave my rating 4 stars because I'm a bit worried about the durability of the corners.
