Good replacement for the original - saved my iPad - see update - broken replacement

I was pleasantly surprised to find a reasonably priced replacement for my old Apple case which broke after over 3 years of use. This case works just like the original, providing a safe soft finish to protect the glass from scratches. Is it as durable as the original Apple case? no In this case, the corners of the iPad snap and are protected at the edges, but not surrounded by padding like the "official" Apple case. Fits my iPad 4th Gen (A1458)

I bought this because it is a faithful replica of my original Apple clamshell iPad case which i could find. When I bought my iPad (4th generation, model A1458) in early 2013, I also bought a case from Apple ($49!). The original lid was fully rubberized with silica gel - there was no hard plastic on the back - and a 4-leaf lid with a magnetic closure. The original cover had some sort of stitching around the top of the bottom which was a bit of extra shock protection around the edges of the iPad.

Very good value for money with one complaint

I was a bit nervous about this case. I have an iPad 3. My first experience with a third party case didn't go well because the iPad 3 is thicker than other iPads and didn't fit. When I saw that it should be compatible with other iPads I thought maybe I would have the same problem. Not in this case. It really fits my iPad 3. Just push down a bit on the corners and you'll hear a slight click and you're done. The lid magnets also activate/deactivate the screen on my iPad. The overall impression of…

Always buy more

I have already bought this case two or three times. I can't say anything bad about the quality, quite the opposite. I'm a very clumsy person. I accidentally drop my iPad all the time, usually from such a height that I don't feel like picking it up. But my iPad somehow survived. I first bought it after breaking the $70 Apple brand case.
