High cholesterol, this protein is a possible factor

My husband has been taking this protein powder for now several months in his morning cocktail. This will keep him full until mid-morning when he eats a fairly large snack. A week ago he had a blood test and it turned out that all his cholesterol levels, including triglycerides, were high. He's always been in good shape, now that we're older he eats a pretty healthy diet, runs a few times a week (1.5-2 miles) and his waist-to-hip ratio is in the 'good' range, BUT he has heart disease in his family. So not sure if this protein powder is necessarily to blame (hence the 3 stars) but it definitely doesn't help that the cholesterol is so high and the ingredients contain triglycerides. I'm not a cholesterol expert, just wanted to warn anyone who may have a family history of heart disease. It's not worth the risk. Without the work of the blood we would not have known. I have switched our subscription and savings to plant based natural protein and will update later to see if anything has changed. Good luck everyone in your quest for a quality and affordable protein powder. It wasn't the same for us.

Pros
  • 2-3 grams of sugar: Although the taste is amazing, Synta-6 contains 2-3 grams of sugar per serving, depending on taste
Cons
  • I'll write later
