I ordered these socks oversized to fit my 16 inch calf even though I wear a size 8 women's shoe which according to the sizing chart should be medium. Despite this, these socks were very tight in the legs and ankles and quite difficult to put on compared to other compression stockings I've tried. male or tall female but I'm 5ft 5in and they were at least an inch bigger than they should be for my leg. They are difficult to straighten/fold without going past the knee. They generally feel good once I've put them on and I love the soft footing and feel of the material. I only wish they had a larger caviar or a shorter version (bigger, not as big). They will probably shrink if I wash them, but if so I'm not sure I can wear them over the heel/ankle at all. They call them light compression in one place and moderate in another, but compared to others I've tried I'd call them moderate+.
