Well built, does the job, good price

This mount weighed almost as much as my 39 inch flat screen TV! It's solid, with smooth hinges and clean solder joints. I installed it on the wall where I blocked the studs during the renovation. It comes with lots of screws including 4 cement wall screws and anchors the size of my index finger. I didn't need them, so I went to the hardware store for 1 1/2", 5/16 wood screws. The instructions had the wrong photo of the actual wall plate; the screw holes were wrong, but I still didn't want just the 3 screws in the Use center. I put a screw in all four corners and then added 2 more because there were more holes. Didn't want the pup to come off the wall! The bracket allows for good vertical tilt (15 degrees are listed but I think there are more) and also reaches the room AND swivels left and right. After I add the angled coax adapters it fits flush against the wall so the cables sit snugly. The attachment to the TV itself consisted of just four screws that were included. I didn't need the standoffs that came with the kit, but some might. Note: When calculating wall clearance, consider the 2+" off center of the wall mount from the center of the TV mount when folded to the "closed" position on the wall. And the side of the offset depends on which direction you swing the first hand. (Once it's in front of you, it'll make more sense!) It's probably not noticeable on the big wall, but I only had a few inches on each side, and that would mean some tools were stowed away and dinner for the Family wouldn't have happened if I hadn't noticed in time. The only thing that bothers me about this model is that the weight of this 39" TV (the bracket holds larger TVs) rests on two small screws that allow the plate attached to the TV to hang from the plate at the end of the wall bracket . Yes, there is something to be said about the shear strength, but it still makes me wary (of course, I AM the person who put 7 screws in the wall instead of the recommended 3!) Also, please note that you CANNOT install these in metal studs . Two wooden posts with a border of one each may be an option for some. But the notes show installing in just a wooden stud (or cement wall, NOT cement block). Overall we are happy with the installation and performance. We never changed the angle after adjusting, so I can't comment on how tight the hinges remain over time.
