One, I don't know what to call it. It's not a brush. It's not a strap. But it does a great job washing the back. Second, you will NOT take a picture of me in the shower. You just have to take my word for it. One side you see in the picture has rounded ribs that look more like a massage surface. On the other hand, there are hundreds of silicone "bristles" that are excellent at penetrating your skin to unclog pores and exfoliate. It's so nice to have that level of cleanliness on my back again. The handles are comfortable to hold and the whole thing is very easy to rinse off before getting out of the shower. This is a great addition to my shower routine. Five stars.
