When I received the bracelet and took it out of the box, I was amazed at how "OEM-like" the bracelet looked. The silicone wristband looks and feels high quality. Unfortunately, now a month later, my strap is defective and will no longer attach to Garmin watch pins. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that Garmin uses more spring tension on the clasps than this band manufacturer. It also appears that the surface area of the clasp is larger from end to end on the Garmin strap than on the secondary. It should be noted that I lead a fairly active lifestyle, I train with this watch 4-5 days a week. under different conditions (running, cycling, cross-training and weightlifting) as well as for normal everyday life. I don't think I would have any issues with the band breaking if only used for light/cardio training, but I think for weightlifting and cross training the band should be more durable. I wouldn't trust him to swim just for fear of losing my watch. I'm just out of the return window so it's a $12 lesson for now.
