That's exactly what I was looking for. I am using this with my Playstation 4 which is also connected to 5.1 surround sound. I don't need headphones that prevent me from enjoying surround sound. The "shell" that fits over the ear is not closed like traditional headphones. It's more like a cage that hovers over your ear, allowing you to hear everything that's going on in the room around you. Due to the design, the ear will not get hot, rough and uncomfortable even after wearing it for a long time. Some people complain that the headphone volume is not loud enough. Although it could have been a little louder I had no problems. Just make sure you go to your PS4 settings to turn up the chat volume.
