Review on ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Performance Sunglasses: Julbo Aerospeed with REACTIV or Spectron Lens by Rick Rogers

The best goggles for trail running, period.

I only use these sunglasses for long distance trail running and they are perfect for that use. They are very light and the grip areas on the temple and nose are grippy enough even when I sweat for hours. Eventually I forget they're on my face, which is the goal of any pair of sports glasses. They are not too tight and not too loose. I have a fairly wide head and they don't stretch which is great. That being said, I bought them for Reactiv lenses (Cat 0-3) and there are a few things to keep in mind when they arrive. to this technology. First, yes, "0" is almost 100% clear. So it's great because you (and I) can wear them at night (like in winter when it's snowing and you're such a weirdo who like me runs with a headlamp). When exposed to direct sunlight, they change quite quickly, but do not become transparent again as quickly as they become dark. This isn't usually a problem, but it's good to know. In addition, they change color most effectively when exposed to direct sunlight. This means if you're wearing a hat and/or if the sun is directly overhead they may not get as dark as if the sun were at a lower angle and hitting the lenses directly (they'll still get pretty dark wrong, but they get darkest when exposed to the sun's ultraviolet light). Ironically, this makes them most useful at sunrise and sunset. This technology also means they don't work like driving glasses (ie don't rely on them in the car coming home from a long drive - bring regular sunglasses). Driving Glasses!) because your car's windshield blocks the UV light from the sun's rays and the lenses don't blur as much or as quickly. So don't think of them as your everyday sunglasses. They get 5 stars from me because I only use them for cross country running. They are good for all outdoor activities with variable light conditions (cycling comes to mind). If you plan to use them for other purposes as well, you should be aware of the limitations of Reactiv lenses beforehand.
