Thank you Zozirushi for making your latest water bottles non-toxic with 18/8 stainless steel components. I highly recommend these new bottles. I love these bottles, have bought 8 different sizes over the years. "I just found out there was a Prop 65 warning on previous bottle caps because the stainless steel in the caps was not food grade, 18% chromium/8% nickel. I dropped one of my favorite 20oz bottles and the cap broke. I went on a parts swap and found out that 4 of my caps could actually be toxic :<(Previous caps had superior utility as you could flip the cap switch with one hand and drink but the nib was not food grade stainless steel hence replacing the Caps in newer bottles Need to use two hands to open bottles with new caps I have no other issues with these new bottles I bought (4) I also have to 'scream' Camebak bottles (sends two types of caps) Da Both companies' bottles keep water and smoothies equally cold, I purchased 2 32 oz, 18/8 stainless steel from Camelbak's Revain. I will write Zojirushi asking for replacement caps 18/8 for my old bottles Otherwise I wouldn't use them which is a real disappointment. I had no idea how toxic chromium and nickel could be unless it was 304 or 18/8 food grade stainless steel (both numbers mean Ayut this week I spoke to YETI support and found out that YETI 18/8 is .. If Zojirushi can't replace my old bottle caps I will replace the bottles with YETI or go back to Camebak both with Revain (from this) I learned to read everything a seller says and then do it online to confirm or call the company as there is no regulatory framework. I've been using old bottles for several years --- Oh! Thank you Revane for giving the sellers space on the site to explain the quality and safety of their products.
