Was able to sync with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet and the Galaxy Note 4 smartphone. Using the built-in camera app on both, on the Note 8 the android button acted as the shutter release and the 360/ IOS button acted as a zoom. On the Note 4 both buttons acted as a shutter release with a 5 second time delay, Will try with other apps later and update. the case itself is pretty flimsy, if you're an active person it will not last long.Update: 3 1/2 stars. Just to let you that as a BT shutter release, the unit works quite well. The instructions, such as they were, never mentioned any other uses of the buttons other than shutter release. That is does something else with my phone and tablet is great. I am hesitant to give it even 4 stars due to the thinnest of the plastic, I don't believe it will hold up during a hike or other type of like exercise. It is not bad for the price. just don't man-handle it.
