Having never flown (or played with) a drone before, I must learn to fly this little guy with every precision. After charging the drone for the first time and inserting the batteries into the controller, both the drone and the controller started working. I made contact between them and the indicator on the drone stopped blinking and turned green. I didn't notice any "obstacle avoidance" on my first flight, although when I moved my hand (or head) close to the drone while it was flying, it moved away. In the meantime, due to my inexperience, it's crashed into a lot of things in my somewhat messy living room. Unless you have something very light or fragile it's unlikely to hurt anything, not even yourself. Not being a gamer I'm not used to using a joystick and don't usually have very fine controls, height adjustments and so on. However, I felt that the joysticks could be a bit more responsive. I'm happy to report that this drone doesn't make those annoying noises that some people make. While I can't tell how the props can be damaged, I appreciate having spare props. Who knows? This is a really fun toy for all ages, especially those used to games or joystick remote control devices. Still, I have nothing to compare this drone to.
