This product can be great for people with terrible allergies. But if you have mild allergies or are looking for something that can act as a barrier against dust mites, dander, etc., this product is over the top and I recommend looking elsewhere. The product description advertises this cover as comfortable. Well, the material is like a shower curtain, so if you're comfortable with having a shower curtain under your sheet, I think so. But not for us. Once on our bed, we found it so loud and distracting that neither of us could sleep on it. It doesn't do us much good to have a barrier against all those bugs and moisture if we can't rest! The product is well made, fully covers the mattress and I expect it to protect against almost every possible situation - we haven't used it long enough to confirm. I have to give this product a "Dislike" rating. I would only recommend this for people with really debilitating allergies.
