My daughter loves bugs and critters. We kept a pet praying mantis there for about 3 months and she was very comfortable and could easily watch her gobble down her prey! We also kept some pretty spiders and some caterpillars until they turned into butterflies. It feels really cheap as the base is easy to remove and the lid almost looks like you'll break it every time you open it. There's not much unless you want to modify some mason jars for the same effect. Otherwise it is a very good alternative and very easy to see your residents.
