I have not compared the readings I received with another source. There are other reviewers who have done this so you can read their review for that information. My rating is based on ease of use. Taking your own measurements is easy, but will require a little extra work on your part. The hook tab REALLY pops out easily so you have to hold it with another finger or hand to press the button to tighten the band. 2. If you just unplug it and lift it up to read the measurement, chances are you won't get a melted measurement as some of the tape could slip back.
