I had an operation on my feet a few years ago and unfortunately I can no longer wear heels. I needed an alternative to character shoes and I found it. Before the surgery I wore size 6.5 Bloch shoes; but they are very comfortable. I wore narrow 6.5 in street shoes. I now wear the regular 7 in street shoes and need more toe room so I ordered 7.5 for them. They are actually snug on my toes but not uncomfortable. However, the socks are quite wide. This is normal as my feet sometimes swell, but I feel like the proportions are for people with wider feet and lower arches (mine are quite high).
