Review on Monoprice Digital Optical Toslink Converter by Joseph Hall

When I bought a new TV with fiber optic audio out I couldn't use the current setting. I have a basic amp and two Boston Acoustic speakers. This setup was great and a relatively inexpensive alternative to soundbars or surround sound systems. An amp that supports Toslink costs me $600. This Toslink to R/L Stereo Optical Audio Converter did it. The audio has no lag between the TV's built-in speakers and my Boston acoustics. I was able to easily place this converter between the TV and the input of the amplifier. It's small and could be plugged into a "switched" outlet on my cable box. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the box it comes in was a bit redundant. I'
