Almost a big shock for the price

Just wanted to start off by saying that you get a decent product for the price. You'll be hard pressed to find a better deal. PROS: * A very affordable option if you are building a budget bike. * Easy to install. * Compression and rebound were decent when I hopped the bike mid-ride. * At 185 pounds, the shock shrank about 1.5 inches when rolling off a 6-inch curb. * The painting is done in high quality, the shock absorber looks beautiful. CONS: * No additional accessories or manual with warranty information in the box, just the plug. *One of the two shocks I got had extra metal on the bottom of the head tube where the crown race sits. The problem must have occurred when pushing the steering tube. I had to shave it off with a file to set the crown properly, which resulted in me slightly scratching the lacquer. This is poor quality control on the part of the manufacturer.* The manufacturer put some tape on the brake adapters and painted them over which made the holes look invisible/threaded. I had a moment of anger looking at her until I inserted a small allen wrench. This shows the lack of detail in preparing the fork. * Compressing the fork a few inches, I noticed a small amount of grease on the top tube assembly. My concern is that the manufacturer either overfilled the fork with grease or the seals aren't up to par. Overall I'm very happy with the fork considering it's cheap. There is no way this deserves a 5 star rating given the issues I encountered. however, I would rank this product first in terms of cost and benefit. After all, you get what you pay for: a low price for a one-way trip. It would be wrong to compare the product to a Signature Fox or Rockshock fork that I also own. If you decide to purchase this plug I would recommend a 2 year warranty should there be any problems in the future. I can only share my first impressions at this point and plan to see if the fork can withstand some XC abuse in the coming months. If the shock absorber fails after a few rides, the rating drops to 1 star.
