Review on πŸ’» Enhance Your Microsoft Surface Go with the New Black Type Cover by Justin Jeppi

The Microsoft Surface Go 1 or 2 companion you should have. It's a pity that there is no fingerprint ID

If you already own a Surface Go 1 or 2 or are planning to buy one, check out this Type Cover keyboard because it will look lonely without it. ;) Too bad the Surface Go Type Cover keyboards don't come with Fingerprint ID, which is present in the newer Surface Pro Type Cover keyboards. Overall the keyboard is great. Material, key spacing, travel and trackpad. Add backlighting, patented magnets, and a textured feel, and it makes a great Surface Go companion. I went for the black version, which is a bit cheaper than the other colors, but price wasn't a factor in my decision. . The factor for me was the material; Black feels more rubbery when you put your hands on it, it's easier to clean. While other colors have a luxurious Alcantara material that is harder to clean. But I think the back is made of luxurious Alcantra material because it's different from the top, but I'm not sure. The choice of the black version also made me prefer the black surface pen and mouse to the other colors and I have to say that they both look very nice together. If you're in doubt about the colors, perhaps the photo of the entire set I've included in this review will help you decide. :) In addition to the above pros, below are a few that I consider cons: - No fingerprint ID. - No right CTRL key, only the left one. - No right mouse button, which I find very useful when navigating only with the keyboard. - There is no fingerprint function. - You cannot use this keyboard if it is not on the surface. - FN lock so that the F1-F12 keys are used by default and not their alternate behavior. somewhat difficult to activate; You need to hold down the FN key for half a second to a second until the LED lights up. The second issue in this thread is that the PrtScn, Home, End, PgUp, PgDn keys are alternative behaviors for the F8 to F12 keys. And to use it while FN-Lock is on, you also need to hold down the FN key. But that could be a nitpick. Still, it suits me.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
