I have had to use this little tool twice now. The first was with a longer-stemmed Presta valve. The inflator tool, contrary to the seller's statement, does NOT screw down securely on a Presta valve. But, with a longer valve, I was able to get the tool down firmly on the valve, and inflate my rescue tube, enough to get home. (The pressure claimed reachable on a 700x23 tire is inaccurate. I got probably 70-80, and normally inflate to 100.)The second time I had to use this tool, however, was with a replacement tube with a significantly shorter Presta valve. (Poor thinking on my part). This tool, again, does not screw onto the valve, and quickly came into contact with the wheel itself, when I tried to seat it on the valve as deeply as I could. Result was loss of most of the C02. I think I got perhaps 30-40 PSI, and had to ride, very slowly and gently, about 6+ miles home, in the middle of July 4 crowds. Yikes. A wholly unsatisfactory result.I need a tool that absolutely will screw securely down on the valve, or at least close around it snugly like lips on a straw, and which does not depend on having valves of a particular length in order to work, perfectly, the first time, in a moment of stress. Also has words printed on it I did not find all that helpful, and which were hard to read, in the dark, without reading glasses.
