I used it for cutting canvas, paper, cardboard, durable for daily work. The ruler at the top is stiff, but when you use it and move it back and forth, it moves smoothly. It was a nice addition to my home office and my creativity. The guillotine is strong. The fill acts as a weight for the paper to hold the paper in place while cutting so I don't move the paper or canvas. Depending on the amount of paper to be cut, it can be raised as needed. Great so far. It is lightweight and easy to carry. It comes in a box to protect the blade I think. I kept the box and added a pen. but it can be thrown away.
