Review on Enhance Your Audio Experience with the ASUS Strix SOAR Sound Card by Adam Pietras ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A little disappointed, a bad purchase.

I recently got this miracle and was disappointed. I bought this sound card for 5300. It is definitely not worth this money (the red price is 3.5k), but first things first. 1) Positioning in games is exactly the same as it was on the ALC 887. (tested on HyperX Cloud Core) 2) As for music and movies, everything is the same as on ALC887. With the exception of increased bass (which can be boosted with an equalizer) 3) There was a large margin of volume due to the uselka. This stock is absolutely useless, since it is simply useless for HyperX Cloud Core. Unless you want to go deaf in an hour. 4) The main disadvantage is a noticeable background in games. The sound card has no power shielding at all (the protective casing is nothing more than a decorative decoration), through which all the noise of your pigtail iron will be transmitted. Since my video card does not have the best chokes, you can clearly hear them in games both in headphones and on speakers. (I note that on my motherboard the built-in sound card is completely shielded and there is no noise) The sound card was first placed in the slot above the video card. But because of this noise, I decided to put it in the bottom PCI-E slot, which is powered by the chipset line. The squeak is almost inaudible, but it did not work out completely. As a result, due to its large size, it completely blocked one video card cooler. Accordingly, the temperature of the video card rose by 10 degrees. Conclusion: The sound card does not give you any positioning advantage in games. There is also no difference in music. I do not recommend buying this sound card for HyperX Cloud Core. In general, I do not recommend buying a sound card for budget ears. You will get nothing but moral satisfaction. And for more or less normal ears, I recommend buying an external DAC, since you automatically remove the noise problem from your hardware.

Pros
  • A small boost in bass, a large margin in volume, beautiful software. That's all.
Cons
  • Extraneous noise, price.
