Review on πŸš— Enhanced VHF/UHF AnyTone Dual Band Mobile Vehicle Transceiver AT-5888UV with Advanced Transmitting Abilities by Ryan Lawson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

This radio is now stripped of all accessories from this sender, if you can order it complete somewhere it would be much better.

My first 5888UV came with a remote faceplate mount, programming cable and remote head cable. This radio was great. The second radio came without all of these items, you had to read the fine print! my fault I had to go and buy additional accessories. The metal bracket that supports the body of the Remote Head is not suitable for its intended purpose, too thin, although the plastic body is suitable. I immediately drilled out the rivet, mounted the plastic body onto the Proclip swivel mount custom made for my car and it worked perfectly. See links below. I cut the supplied remote cable to length, drilled a new hole in the case to route the cable exactly where I wanted it and installed a new RJ45 connector. Now that the second radio has arrived without the expected additions, I have to go back. and order this bracket and case so I can remotely mount a second radio head. Is it a little odd that the second radio has an earlier serial number than the first? Here are links to the Proclip mounting system that I use on all my vehicles http://www.proclipusa.com/accessories/tilt-swivel-inserts/product/tilt-swivel-mount-with-amps-face-plate-standard - 215453.cmsv?p_leftorright=0http://www.proclipusa.com/accessories/locking-move-clips/locking-move-clip-accessories.aspx
